The Healey-Driscoll administration has announced $3 million in transportation support for projects that connect workers with transit, expand shuttle and ferry service and support alternatives to driving alone.
The Nov. 2 MassDOT announcement includes $484,000 to continue expanded Charles River Transportation Management Association shuttle connecting North Station and Kendall, and $235,000 for the Seaport association's Pier 10 ferry connection to North Station and improvements to help riders find their way.
A Better City will receive $82,735 to add Saturday service to an Allston-Brighton shuttle that runs on weekdays. One $66,000 award to Neponset Valley will pilot commuting options for workers on second and third shifts.
Other awards include $400,000 for a permanent transportation information and connection point in Assembly Square, $199,855 to continue expanded shuttle service around Alewife station and $180,400 to continue a Lower Mystic shuttle linking public housing, grocery shopping and transit in Boston, Everett and Chelsea.
MassDOT said the awards support 14 regional associations and one statewide organization.
The listed cash awards total $2.9 million. Boynton Union Connect will receive in-kind planning help, which the release does not value. Transportation management associations work with employers and other local partners on commuting needs.
