The Parlour is putting its building at 1119 North Main St. in Providence up for sale, but the live music venue says it has no buyer and says business will continue as usual until the building is sold.
The business described its plans in a public post on its own Facebook page. It said operations would continue as usual until a sale and estimated that even a buyer found immediately would need about two to three months to close. That is the venue's estimate of how long a sale would take, not a date for the venue to close.
"There is still much music to be enjoyed," the post said.
The post does not name a final night, and the venue's website lists shows into late November.
The Parlour's calendar mixes ticketed shows with recurring open mic and jam nights.
The next listed Thursday show, Oct. 29, features Kimaya Diggs, Mary McAvoy and Indira. The calendar then lists a Hammer Collective Halloween show Oct. 30 and a Halloween Hullabaloo on Oct. 31, with a $10 admission listed for the latter.
November begins with a jazz jam hosted by Ben on Nov. 1. The venue lists the session as an all-ages event from 5 to 8 p.m., with free admission for participating musicians and $10 for the general audience. The listing describes it as a special anniversary edition of the recurring first-Sunday session.
The Parlour also lists a separate 14-year anniversary event for Nov. 7, with $10 admission. Later listings include Leon Trout and Cosmic Factory on Nov. 14 and Dead Gowns with Nova One on Nov. 19.
Other November listings include the Full Blast Presents Secure the Bag hip-hop event for mental health on Nov. 5, with $20 admission, and an all-ages Tom White Trio CD release show on Nov. 14. Two first-Friday nights are listed for Nov. 6: Western Stars, an all-ages country swing night with no cover, and Mardon Famous "Reggaeology," free before midnight and $10 after. The calendar also lists Proving Day 2026, a Proving Ground Studios live music celebration, on Nov. 21.
Weekly programming includes a Tuesday open mic hosted by Corinne Southern, with doors at 6 p.m., sign-ups at 6:30 and music at 7. The calendar lists no cover. It also lists a Wednesday blues jam with the Fillmores Band at 8 p.m., also without a cover charge.
Six State Signal emailed The Parlour at 11:41 p.m. Oct. 27 asking about the sale, how long the venue expects to operate and whether scheduled shows will go on. The venue had not responded as of early Oct. 28. Listings and any changes are posted on The Parlour's website and Facebook page.
