Upper Valley schools and eligible nonprofit organizations have until 5 p.m. Nov. 19 to apply for Wellborn Ecology Fund grants supporting environmental learning for children.
The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation program generally offers up to $5,000. Larger requests may be considered after a required consultation with the foundation.
Funding is limited to the foundation's mapped Upper Valley service area, which includes communities in New Hampshire and Vermont.
Eligible applicants include public schools, municipalities and tax-exempt charitable organizations. Other groups may apply through a charitable fiscal sponsor, an organization that accepts responsibility for the grant.
The fund emphasizes learning connected to local places, particularly early-childhood and K-12 programs in underserved communities. Applications are submitted through the foundation's GrantSource system and reviewed as they arrive; the foundation says applicants can generally expect a decision within three weeks.
Applicants can check the eligible-town map and instructions on the program page or call Meena Gyawali at 603-225-6641, extension 219.
