Connecticut residents who want an Access Health CT plan to begin Jan. 1 should enroll by Dec. 15, state officials said in a Nov. 5 reminder about the 2027 coverage period.

The enrollment window opened Oct. 23 and runs through Jan. 15. People who select coverage from Dec. 16 through Jan. 15 will have a Feb. 1 start date, according to the governor and Insurance Department.

The state says temporary premium assistance will continue in 2027 for eligible customers. Premiums are the regular payments needed to keep insurance active; they are separate from deductibles and other charges when a patient gets care.

Beginning in 2027, eligible early-childhood educators and employees at licensed child-care programs may receive a state subsidy of $1,000 to $1,200 a year. The state says it can be combined with other financial assistance and used with individual or small-group coverage.

Access Health CT is the only place residents can qualify for marketplace financial assistance, including federal premium tax credits and the state's Temporary Premium Assistance. Residents can enroll at Access Health CT or call 855-805-4325, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The state says free enrollment help is available through certified brokers, enrollment specialists, navigators and community partners. Insurance Commissioner Joshua Hershman advised shoppers to compare covered doctors, prescriptions and out-of-pocket costs as well as monthly premiums.
